Welcome to the Brightside PTA section. As a parent of a Child attending Brightside you may not know this, however you are automatically part of our Brightside PTA! We are an ever growing group of mums (and dads!) who help to raise money for our school. The Head Teacher advises us on what is required at the school to further enhance our children's education. There has been occasions where money has been put towards vital equipment the school needs but there are no available funds to purchase.
So far we have raised enough money to purchase a school library, a small mini bus that is in constant use. We have purchased "Green Screen" technology - Brightside are the first school in Billericay to introduce this new and exciting piece of technology! We have also raised money for iPads to be in each classroom.
At the moment the PTA are fundraising for a brand new garden for the front of the school!
The Garden will include:
This is set to be a wonderful addition to Brightside School. This garden will not only be a place of learning and appreciating wildlife but somewhere to let your imagination run wild and make lots of fun memories.
The PTA need to raise £20,000 to make the garden plans come alive. Please continue to support all our events so this will be possible in the not too distant future.
The Brightside PTA have lots of dedicated members, but we are always on the lookout for more. If you would like to help out in any way, big or small we would always be grateful to have you! Look out for adverts and dates for the next meetings in the PTA Newsletters and Parent Mail!
The Summer Fete is our biggest event and planning begins from January. We always need people to help out on this day, from setting up in the morning to taking it all back down again at the end of the event! To make the Fete great we need your help! If you would like to volunteer please contact us: Brightsidepta@gmail.com
PTA Annual General Meeting (AGM)
I hereby give notice of the AGM of the Brightside School PTA, to be held on Wednesday 13th September 2017. The meeting will commence at 8pm.
The PTA plays a vital part in the school community and all parents, as members of the PTA, are invited to support the AGM. This is your chance to hear and see how the funds you have helped to raise have been used for the benefit of the students at our school.
The AGM is also an opportunity for you to elect the PTA Committee, to represent the association throughout the forthcoming academic year. Nominations should be sent in advance of the AGM, for existing committee members willing to stand for re-election and for anyone wishing to stand as an Officer, for the first time.
If you would like any further information about what is involved in being a Committee Member, please contact Joanna Rudge at Brightsidepta@gmail.com. As our PTA is a registered charity, all committee members automatically become Trustees of the Charity. Before submitting your nomination form, please read the Charity Commission publication ‘The Essential Trustee - What you need to know’. A copy of this is available at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/the-essential-trustee-what-you-need-to-know-cc3/the-essential-trustee-what-you-need-to-know-what-you-need-to-do
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday 13th September 2017.
