Year 4
In Year 4 pupils continue to build on the skills previously learnt and learn new, more challenging knowledge. Skills will be carefully planned throughout the year so that the child masters this learning. Skills can be taught in topics, but this is not essential - mastering the skill is the basis of planning. Skills and learning experiences meet the individual needs of each learner; we do this through accurate and appropriate differentiation. Learning is assessed carefully at the start of each lesson and then an appropriate learning journey planned, so that a skill can be rehearsed and hopefully mastered, and, where appropriate, support given.Â
