The Sports Premium is an allocation of additional funding provided to support the school in raising the quality of sport. This money can be spent on any aspect of sport within school including: resources, coaches, transport to events, implementing clubs etc.

All schools are required to report on the amount of funding received in 2021 - 2022 and details of how the allocation was spent. For the academic year 2022 – 2023 Brightside Primary School has budgeted for £20824.

The improvements in sports throughout the school will be sustainable in the future because the vast majority has been spent on resource allocation. These resources enable the children to participate in sports at an appropriate level with equipment that prepares them for future competition. Where money has been spent on inclusion in sports programmes and staffing to develop competitive games, this will be continue through money in future PE budgets.
