Year 5 had an absolutely unforgettable Ancient Egyptian experience day, brought to life by the fantastic team at Those History People and expertly led by Phil. From start to finish, the children were fully immersed in the rich culture and history of the ancient world.
A major highlight of the day was the interactive Ancient Egyptian marketplace. The children got hands-on experience crafting authentic items, including:
Scented Wax Cones: Learning how Egyptians wore perfumed fat top-knots for special occasions.
Soap Scarabs: Carving detailed amulets symbolizing rebirth and protection.
Mummified Idols: Exploring ancient burial rituals and sacred offerings through craft.
Phil was incredible with the year group, captivating their imaginations while keeping energy levels high throughout the day. He had glowing praise for our Year 5 pupils, highlighting their outstanding behavior, curiosity, and fantastic enthusiasm. It was an enriching, memorable day of hands-on learning that the children—and staff—will be talking about for a long time!
"I just wanted to say thank you for today’s Workshop. You and your team are fantastic, but more importantly your children really did your credit today. Handsdown the most fun I’ve had at work this term if not in the last year. "
